You will need:

  • Model magic
  • Plaster
  • Felt
  • Funky Foam
  • Paint
  • Google Eyes
  • Glue
  • Easter egg mould

Instructions:

  1. To make the shell you need powdered plaster and only one half of the easter egg mould. Mix the plaster according to the instructions on the packet. Ensure mould is on a steady surface. Fill mould with plaster mix and leave to set overnight.
  2. When the plaster has set hard, carefully remove the mould. You can now paint the shell with your chosen colours.
  3. To make the feet, roll some model magic into four small balls. Flatten one side of each ball. This will enable you to glue the model magic to the underside of the shell at a later stage.
  4. To make the head, roll a larger ball and flatten one side as before.
  5. Mould a tail out of another small piece of model magic. Leave all model magic to dry.
  6. Position your model magic pieces around the shell and glue to the bottom of the plaster shell.
  7. Cut a piece of felt the same size as the plaster shell and glue this on to the base, securing the model magic.
  8. Make a slit in the tortoise’s face using a craft knife. Add a small piece of red foam to look like a tongue.
  9. Stick on some black funky foam for eyelashes and add a pair of google eyes.
