Felt ‘Rubiks Cube’

You will need:

  • Felt Sheets
  • Felting Needle
  • Polycube 6cm
  • Needle
  • Thread
  • Ribbon
  • Polystyrene sheet (scrap)

Instructions:

  1. Cut six 7cm squares from black felt.  Also cut 1.5cm squares of felt from various colours – you will need 54 of these.
  2. Lay black felt square on polystyrene sheet to protect table.  Lay 9 small squares on top of the black square and use felting needle to attach them.
  3. Repeat with the other 5 black squares of felt.
  4. Sew together into a cube and insert polycube for shape.
  5. Sew on a length of ribbon to hang.

Mini Family Portraits

You will need:

  • Paint or markers
  • Mini canvas set
  • Magnets (optional)
  • Glue (optional)
  • Family photos (to copy if you like)

Instructions:

  1. Use your photos as a reference draw your family members onto the mini canvas, using as many as you like! Why not include pets as well?
  2. Turn your portraits into magnets by gluing magnet parts onto the back, or hang them as they are!

These would make a perfect present for Mother’s Day or Father’s Day!

Tissue Flowers

You will need:

  • Tissue Paper
  • Wooden Sticks
  • Stapler
  • Buttons
  • Glue

Instructions:

  1. Take approx. 8 small sheets of tissue and place on top of one another (the more you use the fluffier your flower will be. Using bigger sheets will make bigger flowers).
  2.  Accordion fold your sheets (about 2cms in width). Once folded, staple in the middle to hold together. Using scissors round off each end.
  3. Gently begin to pull up each layer on each side to form your flower.
  4. Finally to make the stem, glue the wooden stick into place and don’t forget the button as the centre.

Pretty Plaster Tealight Holder

You will need:

  • Artificial Flowers
  • Casting Plaster
  • Tea Lights
  • Rubber Bands
  • Glue Gun
  • Glitter Glue or Paint

Instructions:
1. Cut off the stalk and remove the centre section from flower. Flower may separate, so use glue gun to secure. Glue tea light to centre of flower.
2. Fold some petals up around tea light and secure with elastic band.
3. Mix up some plaster and dip the flower into it. Repeat if necessary
4. Leave to dry, ideally for at least an hour.
5. Decorate with glitter glue or paint however you like!

Easter Pom Pom Bunnies

You will need:

  • Pom-pom’s (assorted colours)
  • Foam sheet (white)
  • Iridescent pom-pom’s
  • Fabric Glue
  • Googly-eyes
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Take the foam sheet and cut out two ears, four slim strips (whiskers) and a nose.
  2. Once you’ve done that it’s time to attach everything to the pompom; stick on the eyes, ears, whiskers and nose using a little fabric glue.
  3. Don’t forget to glue on one of the iridescent pompoms or he’ll have no tail!

Egg Box Caterpillar

You will need:

  • Egg box
  • Red paint
  • Green paint (optional)
  • Pipe-cleaner
  • Googly-eyes
  • Black marker
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Firstly, take your egg box and cut around one length of the cupped section so that you’re left with a long row like in the picture.
  2. Paint one end of the caterpillar red, this will act as its head.
  3. Cut two sections off a pipe-cleaner to use as antennae and stick them on top of the head once it has dried.
  4. Add googly eyes and use the marker to create a little black circle mouth to finish off its face.
  5. Go around the side of the egg box, again with the black marker and draw little legs.

Little Fishy (Nemo look-a-like)

You will need:

  • Paper-plate x2
  • Orange paint
  • Googly-eyes
  • Black marker
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Take the first plate and paint it in sections using the orange and leave to dry.
  2. The second paper plate should be used to cut out 2 fins and a tail; paint them orange too.
  3. Once all of it has dried, go over the outline where orange paint meets the white plate with black marker. Scribble some black on the fins and tail too.
  4. Glue them onto the back of paper plate 1 and add a googly eye.
  5. Finally, cut a little triangle out for the mouth.

Big Bright Egg

You will need:

  • Card/Gold Card
  • PVA
  • Tissue Paper
  • Glitter
  • Ribbon

Instructions:

  1. Cut out a large egg shape from the Card.
  2. Using a pencil draw out a design on the egg .Make it as detailed or simple as you like.
  3. Once you have your pattern you can fill in the egg using scrunched up tissue paper, glitter, buttons and whatever takes your fancy!
  4. Once you have finished the design give it a coat of varnish. Back the finished egg onto gold card and cut out. Punch a hole at the top of the egg and tie some ribbon through it. Hang it up and amire the pretty colours.

St.Patrick’s Day Rainbow Necklace

You will need:

  • Plastic Tubing (scrap)
  • Neon Cord

Instructions:

  1. From the plastic tubing cut 2 lengths approx. 7cm, 4 pieces of 6cm, 4 pieces of 5cm, 2 pieces of 4cm and 2 pieces of 3cm.
  2. Arrange theme from longest in the middle to shortest at the edges.
  3. Cut 2 lengths of neon cord 60cm in length.  Starting at one end pass one neon thread through the top of plastic tube, and one end through the bottom.  Repeat this technique with the next tube, until all the tubes are threaded onto the neon strings.  Knot at each end to secure.

Handprint Leprechaun

You will need:

  • Paint
  • Paper
  • Google Eyes
  • Green Felt
  • Glitter Strips
  • Button

Instructions:
1. Paint the palm of your hand pink and the fingers orange. Print onto the white paper and leave to dry.
2. Cut out the hat shape from the green felt and stick onto the paper. Decorate the hat by sticking on the glitter strips and the button.
3. Back your Leprechaun picture onto a sheet of green paper.
