URGENT – We need your help!!

#SupportPlayResource

What does Play Resource mean to you?

I am contacting you to ask for your support as a valued member of Play Resource.  Play Resource is a registered charity and relies on funding from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland to run the excellent and unique services it provides to its member groups.  We received a 5% cut in 2017/18 and were informed recently that we have received another cut of 20% from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland towards the operating costs of the organisation.

I am in the process of preparing an appeal against the funding decision and really need your support. It’s important that we, as a wider community, send as strong a message as possible that these cuts are unacceptable.

Please would you take a few moments to email gail@playresource.org with a few lines telling me what Play Resource means to your organisation and the positive impacts it has on the work you do.

If you could email me by noon on Thursday 3rd May this would be greatly appreciated.

Myself and the team at Play Resource look forward to your response and thank you for your continued support,

Yours,

Gail McGarvey

Director

JEWELLED EGG

You will need:

  • Polystyrene egg
  • Model magic (coloured)
  • Beads/gems/jewels/buttons
  • String (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Mix a few colours of coloured model magic together to get a nice marbled effect. This material is very soft so ideal for working with younger children.
  2. Cover a polystyrene egg full in the model magic. If you wish to hang your finished egg, add a loop of string at this stage.
  3. Press buttons, gems or other sparkles onto the surface of your egg.
  4. Leave the model magic to dry overnight – it will set to a ‘spongey’, not rock hard finish.
