You will need:
- Yarn/ Wool
- Balloons
- PVA Glue
- Yoghurt pots (scrap)
Instructions:
- Blow up some balloons. Don’t blow the balloons up completely, as a smaller sized balloon will support the structure of the string better.
- Set your balloon on a yoghurt pot for support. Put some PVA in a bowl or tray and mix with a little water. Soak a length of yarn in the mixture.
- Carefully begin winding the soaked yarn around the balloon. Try to cover a large area of the balloon, crossing the yarn over itself as much as possible. These are the areas that will stick together and secure the structure of the yarn egg.
- Leave the egg to dry.
- Once the glue has dried and the yarn feels hard, pop the balloon. The yarn should keep the shape of the balloon.
- Tie a new length of yarn to the top of the egg and hang up.
