As a Community Artist and teacher, Anna has developed and maintained successful working relationships over the past 15 years with several leading organisations in the statutory, community and voluntary sectors. This helped her identify training opportunities and led to the creation of new innovative courses aimed at improving practice and delivery of art & craft in community settings.
Projects, classes and training workshops have been manifold over the years and include mosaic, felt making, glass painting, jewellery making, community art & crafts training, and recycling projects such as paper making and scrap art. These have been delivered through schools, FE colleges, hospitals, community centres, Play Resource, festivals, day centres, youth clubs and arts centres. Anna has worked with all ages from primary to pensioners in a diverse range of social settings including marginalised groups such as Travellers, teenagers excluded from school and people with a disability. The range of classes and projects undertaken locally and internationally and the diversity of participants are testament to her commitment, ability and passion for community arts work.
Angela Ginn has been a practicing artist for 20 years and has been facilitating creative art workshops for 17 years. She has worked in community groups, galleries, schools and hospitals, involving many different people including the elderly, women’s groups, inter generational, multi-cultural and youth groups. She was resident artist for Dungannon Community Arts Studio for three years facilitating their Arts and Disability programme. Her approach is always child/ participant centred.
Angela offers workshops for small process based arts and crafts projects and large public artworks to suit the needs of each group. It is always important for her to liaise thoroughly with each group and that each project is especially tailored to suit the needs, ideas and vision of the group.
Some recent projects have included :
A series of murals for Monkstown Community Centre which represent the wide range of the community who use the centre.
A large cross community mosaic project involving two Glengormley schools – Carnmoney and St Mary’s On The Hill PS.
A WELCOME mosaic for St Bernards PS in Glengormley
A series of anti drugs murals with Newtownabbey Community High School, Rathcoole.
She has been resident artist for the last three years in eight schools in Antrim, facilitating their extended schools art programme and co-ordinating and facilitating art sessions and various exhibitions for the schools. I am a positive enthusiastic person and really enjoy working with people in a visual way. Creativity and imagination has an exciting contagious energy: I love the way ideas seem to take on a life of their own and just keep growing….
I facilitate collaborative workshops and projects where everyone has the freedom to express themselves within a supportive friendly environment, while being given the technical skills they need to bring their ideas into reality.
My priority is that participants are engaged, inspired and excited by what they are doing.
I work with all age groups and abilities, but particularly enjoy working with teenage young people. I use a wide range of media, and have a lot of experience with issue based topics such as drugs, bullying, and anti-social behaviour. I also run classroom based teacher training projects.
“The classes and projects that I facilitate are prepared to meet the specific requirements of the participants. I will pre-plan activities to suit all levels of ability and guide everyone though each stage at their own individual pace. My main concerns are that there is a relaxed comfortable atmosphere that allows everyone a chance to learn, explore, reflect and achieve their highest creative potential.
“I have experience in working with early years, primary, secondary, older people, special needs, ethnic groups.”

Happy St Patrick's Day!
Please note Play Resource will be closed on Monday 19th March and will reopen at 9.30am on Tuesday 20th March 2012. Happy St Patrick’s Day everyone!
